The Capitol Vanguard is a website dedicated to providing our readers with incredible value through a journalistic commitment to reporting facts and events both fairly and accurately.
We seek primarily to inform Floridians of the plans and actions of their government as they transpire both at the Capitol and around the state. We believe that government should be transparent and responsive to taxpayers and voters, and that accurate, non-partisan information is the best basis from which to empower Floridians to hold their government accountableno matter the political preference. We endeavor to bring you this important information in a timely and regular manner.
Credibility is our highest priority. At a time of record distrust in mass media, we will present you with stories and accounts that tell the facts without spin or bias, and from a point of view rooted in serving the interests of all Floridians.
Furthermore, as the traditional newspaper model of reporting becomes more homogenized and less economically feasible, the Capitol Vanguard is truly a bottom-up, new media solution to legacy reporting problems. Vanguard, by definition, means a position at the forefront of new developments.
